The small town of Decatur located to the south of Yeoman Service Center is known for their classic Back 40 Junction that looks like an old railroad station with a nice variety of high-end buffet foods. There you can also go antique shopping at the long-time iconic Yvonne’s Antique Mall or stroll down to the Farmers Market. If that is not your thing, you can enjoy a round of gulf at Cross Creek Golf Club or bike the River Greenway.
New Haven is a very clean and safe small town to the east of Yeoman Service Center featuring a very kid and dog friendly Kreager Park. The kids can enjoy the splash pad and park amenities. They have various local eatery’s in the area, like Rack and Helens sausage rolls.
Poe and Hoagland area are very close-knit farm communities that have historical restaurants. Nine Mile Restaurant is the oldest bar in Indiana and is kid friendly. There you can enjoy their infamous gizzards or their signature sandwiches. Poe has a strong community of volunteer firefighters that helps serve the SE side of Fort Wayne and the surrounding area.
Ossian is another great small town to the south that has a wonderful volunteer fire department, but are more known for the viral Minion Silo for a landmark or the well known donuts from Heyerlys’ Bakery that will make your mouth water.
